Affordable Child Care Benefit

  • Who can apply?

    Families may qualify based on:

    • Household income

    • Family size

    • Type of child care

    • Residency status in BC

    Both working and studying families may be eligible.

    How much funding can families receive?

    Funding amounts vary depending on:

    • Your household income

    • Your child’s age

    • The type of care your child attends

    • The number of hours of care used

    Some families may receive partial support, while others may qualify for significant fee reductions.

  • When should I apply?

    We encourage families to apply as early as possible. Funding is not always retroactive, and processing can take time.

    Can separated or shared custody families apply?

    Yes. In shared custody arrangements, each parent or guardian may need to apply separately based on their portion of child care costs and scheduled care days. Funding is assessed individually and families are responsible for ensuring their registration and payment arrangements accurately reflect their child care usage.

    Do I need to renew my ACCB?

    Yes. Families are responsible for renewing their benefit before it expires to avoid interruptions in funding.

  • If you choose to print and fill the pre-filled form, please follow these steps. If you receive a filled out form, these steps may have already been completed.

    1. Ensure the Centre information is filled entirely

    2. Select the correct type of Child Care (Jr Kindergarten and OSC is Licensed Group Child Care, Preschool is a separate category - select closed for summer care).

    3. Fill child information entirely (last and first name, birth date)

      • Time of Care:

        • Before School Care: 7:30-8:45 am

        • After School Care: 2:30-6:00 pm

        • Preschool: 9:00 am - 1:00pm

        • Jr Kindergarten: 8:30 am - 2:30 pm

        • Full Day Programs: 8:00 am - 5:30 pm

      • Select 5 days/week unless otherwise communicated

      • Select child is enrolled in school if School Aged

      • Start date and End date should reflect the entire school year (September 8th, 2026 - June 24th, 2027).

      • Monthly Fee:

        • Please reach out to the office email to receive the accurate fee to input

        • None of our programs have daily fees

        • The full day rate for school closure is $50.00 (School Aged only)

      4.Ensure the Director signs the back of the form

      5.Complete sections 5-8 entirely and submit the form through MyFamilyServices
