About Us

The Out of School Club is a non-profit organization working in partnership with School District 61 and governed by a Board of Directors elected by the parents of the Club.

Providing quality and licensed childcare for children attending Sir James Douglas elementary for over 20 years.

    • The importance of social-emotional education and giving children the tools they need to build healthy relationships.

    • Inclusion and acceptance. We are committed to doing the work it takes to make our programs accessible to all students.

    • Working as a team with parents, teachers, external agencies and professionals to holistically nurture and guide children through their early learning years.

    • Creating a stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, exploration and learning.

    • Consistency and establishing daily routines.

    • Encouraging children to solve their own problems in a peaceful manner.

We ask that children adhere to three basic rules:

1.

Take care of themselves, play safely and follow program rules.

2.

Take care of and respect others, help and never hurt.

3.

Take care of the world around them, look after equipment, the school, and the environment.

We do this to enable children to have a sense of empowerment, confidence, independence and self-esteem, knowing they have the ability to live in harmony with others.
